War Update: Enemy Trying To Break Through Ukrainian Defenses In Kurakhove Sector


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Thirty-seven combat engagements with Russian forces have already been recorded on the battlefield on Thursday, most of them in the Kurakhove sector.

The General Staff of the armed forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 10:00 on Thursday, June 13, Ukrinform reports.

As many as 126 combat engagements took place at the front on Wednesday, June 12.

In total, over the past 24 hours, the Russians have launched four missile strikes against the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements, using 11 missiles, and 38 airstrikes (using 56 guided aerial bombs). They also carried out about 3,500 shelling attacks, including 94 of them using multiple launch rocket systems.

Ukraine's Air Force and missile and artillery forces struck five enemy troop and equipment concentration areas, three air defense systems and one artillery system.

Thirty-seven combat clashes have already occurred today. The invaders carried out 12 airstrikes using 17 guided aerial bombs and shelled the positions of Ukrainian forces and settlements more than 580 times.

In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian army launched two unsuccessful attacks on Ukrainian positions near Hlyboke and Tykhe.

According to detailed information, the Russians lost 135 people killed and wounded in action in this sector. Ukrainian forces destroyed an armored combat vehicle, an artillery system and six vehicles over the past day. Six artillery systems were damaged.

On the Kupiansk axis, Russian forces made an unsuccessful attempt to conduct an assault near Stelmakhivka. Fighting continues near Synkivka and Petropavlivka. The situation is under control.

On the Lyman axis, an enemy attack was repelled near Hrekivka.

The assault on Ukrainian defenses near Verkhniokamianske in the Siversk sector also ended in failure.

Since the beginning of the day, there have already been five combat clashes in the Kramatorsk sector. Three Russian attacks were successfully repelled in the Andriivka area. Two clashes are ongoing near Ivanivske. The situation is tense.

Today, the enemy has already made eight attempts to attack Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk sector. Six attacks near Novoselivka Persha and Novooleksandrivka were repelled. Fighting is ongoing near Kalynove.

In the Pokrovsk sector, according to specified information, the enemy suffered losses during the past day: 242 people were killed and wounded in action, eight tanks, eight armored combat vehicles, two artillery systems and four vehicles were destroyed. Two tanks and a vehicle were damaged.

The largest number of clashes since the beginning of the day was reported on the Kurakhove axis. The enemy has stepped up efforts and is trying to break through Ukrainian defenses outside Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Paraskoviivka. Five attacks were successfully repelled. Seven assault operations are still ongoing. Ukrainian forces keep the situation under control.

According to detailed information, Russian forces lost 85 soldiers killed and wounded in action in this sector. Two tanks, three armored fighting vehicles, two artillery systems and seven vehicles were destroyed.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian army made two attempts to dislodge Ukrainian soldiers from their positions near Mala Tokmachka. The battle is ongoing.

In the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, Russian forces carried out six unsuccessful assaults outside the settlement of Krynky, the press service of the Southern Defense Forces posted on Telegram.

"On the left [east] bank of the Dnipro, in the temporarily occupied Kherson region, the enemy launched six unsuccessful assaults in the area of the settlement of Krynky. Having suffered losses, he retreated to his original positions," the post said.
