Thieves target prestigious Bulgari luxury jewelry store

(MENAFN) A daring heist unfolded in Rome as a gang of thieves targeted the prestigious Bulgari luxury jewelry store, making off with an estimated 500,000 euros (USD540,000) worth of jewelry. According to preliminary investigations by the police, the thieves gained access to the store by breaking into a neighboring house and creating a hole in the floor, providing them with an entry point into the Bulgari branch. Despite the activation of the alarm system just before midnight, the perpetrators managed to evade capture and vanish into the night before law enforcement could intervene.

Situated on Condotti Street, renowned for its array of luxury shops in the heart of Rome near the Spanish Steps, the targeted Bulgari store stands as a symbol of opulence and extravagance. Investigators discovered a hole in the floor connecting the jewelry store to the basement of a neighboring building, suggesting a meticulously planned and executed operation by the thieves.

Authorities are now turning to surveillance camera footage in the hopes of gathering crucial information that may lead to the apprehension of the perpetrators. While initial estimates peg the value of the stolen jewelry at 500,000 euros, there are indications that the actual value of the stolen items could be significantly higher, underscoring the audacity and sophistication of the heist.
