Er Rashid Set For Thumping Win From Baramulla
(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Srinagar- Jailed politician and Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) Abdul Rashid Sheikh, known among the social circles as Er. Rashid is set for a thumping win in the Baramulla Lok Sabha segment.
Up against Political bigwigs, JKNC's Vice President Omar Abdullah, JKPC's Sajad Gani Lone, PDP's Mir Fayaz among others, Er Rashid has so far amassed a total of 343953 votes – as per data available on ECI website at 2:30 PM.

Omar Abdullah seemingly the first runner has earned 186890 votes, Sajad Gani Lone 116667 votes and Mir Mohammad Fayaz 20895 votes.
Meanwhile, Omar conceded defeat from Baramulla Lok Sabha seat even as counting of votes was still underway.
“I think it's time to accept the inevitable. Congratulations to Engineer Rashid for his victory in North Kashmir,” Abdullah said in a post on X at 1.37 pm.

He said the voters have spoken and in a democracy that is all that matters.
“I don't believe his victory will hasten his release from prison nor will the people of North Kashmir get the representation they have a right to but the voters have spoken and in a democracy that's all that matters,” Abdullah said.
