BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11. A meeting has beenheld under the leadership of the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan,Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Trend reports via the Ministry of Defense.
First, a minute of silence was held to honor the memory of theNational Leader Heydar Aliyev and martyrs who sacrificed theirlives for the Sovereignty and territorial integrity ofAzerbaijan.
The minister delivered to the meeting participants the tasksarising from the speech of the President of the Republic ofAzerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, IlhamAliyev, made on May 10 at a meeting held within the opening of thefirst residential complex in Shusha with the first group of formerIDPs who returned to the city.
Noting the importance of bringing the speech of the SupremeCommander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to the entire personnel ofthe Azerbaijan Army, the minister gave relevant instructions onthis matter.
Then, the relevant order of President Ilham Aliyev, on thedischarge of the Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan –Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Ramiz Tahirov,taking into account the last age of military service, was broughtto the attention.
Hasanov emphasized that the activities of the Air Force, as wellas other types of troops of the Azerbaijan Army in the 2020 secondKarabakh üar and other operations are always commended by theSupreme Commander-in-Chief.
It was noted that, in accordance with the requirements of the headof state, important steps have recently been taken towards thedevelopment of the Air Force and its military potential has beenfurther increased.
Besides, it was mentioned that the adoption of new aircraft andunmanned aerial vehicles that meet modern requirements, thetraining of professional servicemen and pilots are vivid examplesof successful reforms aimed at army development.
The Commander and personnel of the Air Force have beenrepeatedly presented with various awards and medals by the relevantorders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for theworthy performance of service duties.
The leadership of the Ministry of Defense expressed gratitude toLieutenant General Tahirov for his long-term impeccable militaryservice in the Azerbaijan Army, and special merits in protectingthe territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and wished him success inhis future life.
Meanwhile, Tahirov thanked the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and theleadership of the Ministry of Defense for their trust and notedthat he will remain faithful to the traditions of statehood in hisfuture activities.
