Joint Turkish-Russian Monitoring Center In Azerbaijan's Aghdam Holds Closing.... UPDATED


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) AGHDAM, Azerbaijan, April 26. JointRussian-Turkish Monitoring Centre in Azerbaijan's Aghdam has held aclosing ceremony today, Trend 's Karabakh Bureau reports.

The ceremony was attended by first Deputy Minister of Defense -Chief of General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army. Colonel GeneralKarim Valiyev, Advisor to the Minister of Defense, Colonel GeneralBakhtiyar Ersai, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the ArmedForces of the Russian Federation Sergey Istrakov, as well as otherservicemen and representatives of the media,

First, the national anthems of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Russiawere played.

Welcoming the participants of the ceremony, Colonel GeneralValiyev spoke about the activities of the Joint Monitoring Centerestablished under the Memorandum signed on November 11, 2020,between Türkiye and Russia.

The Chief of General Staff expressed gratitude to the Turkishand Russian servicemen for their diligent and courageous servicefor peace and stability in the region since January 30, 2021, andwished them success in their future service.

It was also noted that in line with the trilateral Statementsigned on November 10, 2020, by the President of the Republic ofAzerbaijan, the President of the Russian Federation, and the PrimeMinister of the Republic of Armenia, the activities of thepeacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation temporarilystationed in the Karabakh Economic Region of the Republic ofAzerbaijan, in accordance with the agreement reached between thetop leadership of the two countries, are halted ahead of schedule,and the process of complete withdrawal from the country's territorybegins.

The closing ceremony concluded with an artistic performancefeaturing the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Ideological andCultural Center named after Hazi Aslnov and the Military Orchestraof the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev.
