Armenian-Made Explosive Substances Detected In Azerbaijan's Khojavand District


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Explosivesubstances have been detected in Azerbaijan's Khojavand district, asource in the Interior Ministry told Trend .

According to the source, within a building located near thedistrict's Guney Khirman village, 74 mines and grenades of varioustypes, four explosives of TNT equivalent, 110 explosive substances,12 shells, over 23,000 cartridges, and other ammunition wereuncovered and handed over to relevant authorities.

“Besides, a person was identified and taken into custody whorefused to provide the police the discovered ammunition as a resultof the operative actions conducted, and sixty machine guncartridges were discovered and seized from him.

An investigation into these facts is being conducted at theKhojavand district police department," added the source.

Following the liberation of its lands, Azerbaijan beganoperations in November 2020 to clean its lands of mines, boobytraps, and other weaponry left behind by illegal Armenianforces.
