Turkic States' Parliamentary Committees Visit Alleys Of Honor, Martyrs (PHOTO)


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Participants of theFirst Meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee Chairs of theParliaments of the Turkic States held in Baku have paid respect tothe memory of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of the Azerbaijanipeople, architect, and founder of the modern independentAzerbaijani state, in the Alley of Honor and laid a wreath at histomb, Trend reports.

The delegation paid homage at the Alley of Martyrs, placing awreath at the Eternal Flame Monument to honor the heroes who gavetheir lives for the country's independence and territorialintegrity.

The guests, while taking in the panoramic view of the capitalfrom Baku's highest point, received insights into the history ofthe Alley of Martyrs and the ongoing urban development andconstruction projects in the city.

Then the delegations visited the Baku Turkish Martyrs' Memorial,built in 1918 in memory of heroic Turkish soldiers who fell in thebattles for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and theliberation of Baku, and laid flowers at the monument.

During the visit, the delegations were accompanied by theChairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) Committee forInternational Relations and Interparliamentary Ties Samad Seyidov,and other officials.

To note, today the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan ishosting the First Meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee Chairsof the Parliaments of the Turkic States.

The delegations of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, NorthernCyprus, Uzbekistan, Hungary, and Kyrgyzstan are attending themeeting.
