Honorary Consulate Of Uzbekistan Established In Azerbaijan's Ganja City (PHOTO/VIDEO)


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. An official openingceremony of the Honorary Consulate of Uzbekistan in Ganja, one ofthe ancient cities of Azerbaijan and the second largest city afterBaku, was held on April 19, Trend reports.

The event was attended by the head of the Ganja City ExecutivePower Niyazi Bayramov, heads of the consulates of Türkiye andGeorgia in Ganja, citizens of Azerbaijan, representatives of thebusiness community, representatives of science, and other honoredguests. A number of mass media of Azerbaijan widely covered theevent.

Speakers at the conference noted that the event creates anexcellent opportunity for further expansion and deepening ofmutually beneficial and partnership relations between the twocountries and the peoples.

The Honorary Consulate of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan takes part inthe process of protecting the rights and interests of Uzbekcitizens, developing economic cooperation, attracting Azerbaijaniinvestments and tourists to Uzbekistan, and promoting cultural andhumanitarian ties in its area.

This occasion marked two significant milestones in the historiesof Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. It marked the inauguration ofUzbekistan's first honorary consulate in Azerbaijan, alongside theestablishment of Uzbekistan's inaugural honorary consular office inGanja, Azerbaijan.

By mutual decision of the leaders of both countries, KananJalilov was appointed Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan inAzerbaijan.
