PM Pashinyan Declares Incompatibility Of Real And Historical Armenia

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. "Historical"Armenia and real Armenia pose threats to each other, Armenian PMNikol Pashinyan said, Trend reports.
"The government and I personally have come to the convictionthat historical Armenia and real Armenia are not only incompatiblebut also often contradict each other and even create threats foreach other," he said.
Undoubtedly, Armenia's territorial claims against all of itsneighbors are the essence of "historical Armenia". Ultimately,there exist factions in Armenia that continue to believe in thelegends of the“great Armenia". One of the primary causes ofArmenia's failure in the Second Karabakh War was this notion. Themisconceptions are still being spread to the general public,though, and this is an issue given Armenia's current political andeconomic turmoil.
These misconceptions have a long history and prevent Armeniafrom emerging from its parallel universe and fostering positiveneighborly ties with the rest of the region.
Myth-making has damaged not only Armenian society but also theSouth Caucasus region as a whole.
