First-Ever Qatar-UAE Super Cup Announced

Doha, Qatar: Qatar's Amir Cup champions Al Arabi will face UAE's President Cup winner Sharjah FC in April as part of a first-ever championships between the two countries.

Mohammad Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Vice President of the Qatar Football Association, and Abdullah Nasser Al Junaibi, Chairman of UAE Pro League, signed the agreement for the first edition of the Qatari-UAE Super Shield and Cup, during a press conference.

Al Arabi and Sharjah FC Super Cup match will be played in Doha on April 12, 2024; while the next day on April 13, 2024, Super Shield match will see Al Duhail will play against Shabab Al-Ahli in UAE.

President of Qatar Football Association Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain added that this is considered one of the strategic initiatives to develop football in Qatar on one hand and enhance the role of sports tourism on the other hand.
