Who Is Mevaram Jain, Ex-MLA Suspended By Congress For Viral Obscene Video?
(MENAFN- Live Mint) "Rajasthan ex-MLA Mevaram Jain was suspended by Congress party after his alleged sex videos purportedly involving him went viral on social media.
The suspension order of former MLA Mevaram Jain was issued by Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara. The order stated that Mewaram's unethical actions make clear that he has acted against the constitution of the party.“Mewaram Jain (Ex-MLA, Barmer) has been suspended from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress with immediate effect in view of his involvement in immoral activities which is a clear indication of a breach of discipline under the constitution of the Congress Party”, said the letter issued by Dotasara, reported HT, a woman had filed a gang rape case against Mewaram Jain, a three-time MLA from Barmer assembly seat in Jodhpur on December 20, 2023.
In return, Mevaram filed a case against the woman and had her arrested for sextortion, she alleged.A case was filed against nine individuals, including Mevaram, at the Rajiv Gandhi Nagar police station in Jodhpur. Among those accused of conspiracy were Barmer's deputy superintendent of police Anand Singh Rajpurohi and Kotwal Gangaram Bishnoi. The arrested individuals, including Mewaram Jain, Ram Swaroop Acharya, Kotwal Gangaram Khawa, Daud Khan, Barmer DSP Anand Singh Rajpurohit, Barmer Principal Representative Girdhar Singh Sodha, Municipal Council Deputy Chairman Surtan Singh, Praveen Sethia, and Gopal Singh Rajpurohit, were apprehended at the Rajiv Gandhi Nagar police station in Jodhpur. A case has been filed against them, the Rajasthan high court has postponed the MLA's arrest until January 25, instructing him to cooperate with the police investigation. The Jodhpur police are presently investigating the case. Meanwhile, some explicit videos allegedly involving former Barmer MLA Mewaram surfaced on social media. Subsequently, the Congress took action and suspended Mewaram.
