Sweden, Ukraine decide to jointly produce Swedish CV 90 combat cars in Ukraine

(MENAFN) During a meeting between Swedish premier Ulf Kristersson and Ukrainian Leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday, Sweden along with Ukraine decided to jointly produce Swedish CV 90 combat cars in Ukraine.

Kristersson stated that following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February of last year, bilateral collaboration has grown "broader and deeper" during a joint press briefing in Stockholm.

Kristersson emphasized that Sweden gave Ukraine cutting-edge weaponry, such as Leopard 2 tanks and Archer self-propelled artillery units, to protect itself. He also added that they had committed to expand their collaboration on the "production, training, and servicing" of CV90s.

"No task is more important for my government than supporting Ukraine in its fight for freedom and territorial integrity. Ukraine is fighting for us. For all European democracies," he also said.

He lauded Ukraine's bravery and tenacity in the conflict with Russia and expressed his conviction that it will put an end to "Russian aggression" and give Ukraine a fresh start.

According to Kristersson, Sweden has adopted a five-year plan that allocates €520 million (USD566.36 million) to help Ukraine with "reform and reconstruction".
