Turkiye Earns Usd 21.7Bn From Tourism In H1 2023

Istanbul : Turkiye's tourism revenues increased by 27 per cent to USD 21.7 billion during the January-June period in 2023, as per official figures from TurkStat.

The country welcomed 22.2 million visitors-foreigners and Turkish citizens living abroad-in the first half of 2023, up 20.6 per cent on a yearly basis, added the statistical institute.

The average expenditure per night for overnight visitors was USD 99, up from USD 89 during the same period in 2022.

In the second quarter of 2022, the country's tourism revenue totalled USD 12.9 billion, up 23.1 per cent on an annual basis.

The number of people who visited Turkiye during the April-June period of 2023 was 13.99 million, up from 11.9 million during the same period in 2022.

According to reports, Germany was the leading inbound travel market for Turkiye based on the volume of tourist arrivals in 2022, followed by Russia, the UK, Bulgaria and Iran.
