(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Ministry of Culture, represented by the Theatre Affairs Centre, will participate in the preparatory meeting of the Standing Committee for the Gulf Theatre Festival held in Riyadh Monday.
Director of the Theatre Affairs Centre Abdul Rahim al-Siddiqui will participate in the meeting.
The festival relies on presenting multiple theatrical performances accompanied by a variety of cultural and artistic events to exchange experiences and knowledge and encourage intellectual dialogue to promote the theatrical movement among the GCC countries.
The festival reflects the reality of the local theatre in each Gulf country, the extent of development as the Gulf's most prominent theatrical performances participate, its great contribution to the development of the local and Gulf theatrical movement, and the strengthening of artistic and theatrical ties between the Gulf people.
The Gulf Theatre Festival takes place every two years, with periodic hosting among the GCC countries. It is an opportunity for participating theatrical groups to come together, exchange discussions and theatrical dialogues and highlight and introduce Gulf talents. It boasts the participation of 400 playwrights, artistes, and critics from the GCC and Arab states.
