Qc To Host Islamic Chamber's General Assembly Next Dec

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Chamber (QC) announced that it will host the meeting of the General Assembly of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, industry and Agriculture, scheduled to be held next December in Doha.

This came during the participation of the Qatar Chamber delegation, headed by sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Chamber, in the 35th meeting of the Islamic Chamber Board of Directors, held on July 17-18 in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Chamber's delegation participating in the meeting included Dr. Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamed, member of the Qatar Chamber Board of Directors, and Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri, Assistant Director General for Government Relations and Committees Affairs at the Chamber.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Chamber, stressed the role of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in raising the level of trade cooperation among member states, stressing Qatar Chamber's full support for the initiatives and efforts undertaken by the Islamic Chamber with the aim of supporting cooperation between the business sector in the member states and achieving economic integration and economic and social development therein.

It was approved during the meeting to change the name of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture to its new name“Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development”. Also, opportunities and potentials for cooperation to promote economic growth and development were reviewed.

On the sidelines of the meeting, a number of memorandums of understanding were signed to support the growth of small and medium enterprises and digital transformation.

The accompanying events of the meeting included an exhibition of traditional crafts in Azerbaijan, a presentation on the role of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce in microfinance and community development, as well as bilateral meetings between entrepreneurs, members of the Islamic Chamber Board of Directors and several officials in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
