Ten-Year-Old Japanese Volunteer Mirai Shiraishi Meets With Children In Dnipro


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Mirai Shiraishi, a 10-year-old Japanese volunteer, visited the Dnipropetrovsk region. The girl met with Ukrainian children.

This was reported on telegram by the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, according to Ukrinform.



"Today we have an extremely brave girl as a guest. She was not afraid to come to a country where there is a war. To support her peers who are suffering from Russian aggression," said Volodymyr Orlov, first deputy head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration.



In Dnipro, the guest from Japan spent time with pupils of a school. The children showed her their yard with sakura trees. They invited her to a master class in Petrykivka painting. They painted viburnum together. Mirai taught her new friends how to make cranes using the origami technique.

"I was raising money in Japan for the affected boys and girls. I want to tell the whole world about the war in Ukraine. I want the world to become a safe place for children," the young volunteer emphasized.



Near the high-rise building in Dnipro that was hit by an enemy missile, Mirai and her Ukrainian peers honored the memory of the dead children.



Earlier, a ten-year-old Japanese volunteer visited Mykolaiv to collect children's stories about the war.

As reported, during a speech at the NATO summit, Prime Minister Kishida Fumio said that Japan would provide Ukraine with a drone detection system as part of its assistance to the country amid Russian aggression.
