Macron shifts his rhetoric regarding NATO

(MENAFN) French Leader Emmanuel Macron acknowledges that Eastern European districts are increasingly having an impact within NATO, and has replaced his rhetoric on the bloc to correspond to them, a news agency stated on Saturday. Macron newly supported a “path” to NATO association for Ukraine.

Before the war in Ukraine started, Macron was considered as one of Europe’s most NATO-doubtful presidents.

He announced that the bloc is “brain dead” four years ago, as he spent his first period in the office frequently asking for the founding of a “true European army” self-governing from the United States. Even during the first year of the war, Macron stayed in phone communication with Russian Leader Vladimir Putin and separated himself from “Anglo Saxon” presidents, whom he claimed look to “annihilate” Russia.

However, his rhetoric has since altered. Two months ago, Macron asked NATO presidents to provide Kiev a “path” to full association in the bloc, also stated that the European Union as well as NATO should enlarge their army collaboration “as quickly as possible.”
