Haya Baya Event Revives Qatari Popular Heritage


(MENAFN- asdaf news) in an effort to revitalise the popular heritage, the cultural village foundation (katara) staged the“haya baya” event at katara beach on sunday. children wearing traditional qatari attire were prominently present.

girls chanted popular songs about this heritage before tossing their plants into the water. in a number of gcc states, children gather during the month of dhul-hijjah and bring their favourite materials and an empty can, which they use to plant grains of barley, wheat, or lentils. they then hang the can in a safe place so it can be exposed to the air and sunlight.

as a crucial component of this well-known custom, the youngsters still water and maintain the plant.–qna
