Pakistan, Turkmenistan Sign TAPI Joint Implementation Plan

He further stated that Pakistan and Turkmenistan enjoyed brotherly relations and share a lot in common – adding both sides had a keen desire to further promote economic and commercial ties.

PM Sharif stressed the early implementation of the mega project and hoped that the TAPI gas pipeline would be completed at the earliest by optimizing all available resources by all relevant parties.

The TAPI gas pipeline is aimed to bring gas from the Galkynysh gas field in Turkmenistan to Pakistan through Afghanistan.

The pipeline will transport up to 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Pakistan per year over a 30-year period, which will meet Pakistan's gas shortage to a great extent.
