Russia requests investigation around Mars support to Ukraine


(MENAFN) Russia’s domestic newspaper stated on Thursday, quoting the SHOT Telegram channel that Russia’s Prosecutor General has been requested to examine United States food giant Mars for supposedly funding the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The demand was allegedly requested by Vitaly Borodin, the chief of the federal project on safety and anti-corruption. The social activist also says that the food company is preparing to donate money to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which supposedly collaborates with the CIA.

Mars has frequently bordered plans to donate economic help to Ukraine among the nation`s army war with Russia. Last month, the firm mentioned that it had contributed USD13.5 million to aid Ukrainian “people and their pets” influenced by the war.

In March 2022, Mars said that it would suspend all publicity, media activity and operations in Russia in the wake of Moscow’s army attack in Ukraine. Yet, the firm proceeds to sell its products in the nation and manufactures them domestically.
