M7 Incubation Programme Offers Budding Designers A Chance To Shine

Doha, Qatar: The retail incubation programme,“The Collective,” developed by M7 in strategic partnership with Printemps Doha, is currently accepting applications until June 7.

This unique opportunity is open to emerging designers based in Qatar and across the Arab region, with a focus on various fashion categories.

M7 Director, Maha Al Sulaiti earlier said that the programme was designed to answer the current demand and challenges designers face today.“The Collective” aims to provide selected designers with guidance and support throughout their creative journey while also equipping them with a better understanding of the fashion industry's business aspects. By connecting participants with industry experts, the programme offers dedicated mentorship to help prepare designers for entry into the retail market.

After an initial screening process, preselected applicants will showcase samples to a jury.

The jury panel consists of industry experts and retail professionals from M7 and Printemps Doha. From these presentations, seven designers will be chosen to receive four months of personalised mentoring from industry leaders and experts.

At the end of the mentorship programme, these designers will receive an exclusive opportunity to sell their capsule collection in a dedicated M7 x Printemps Doha concept store.

The application is open to emerging designers specialising in eveningwear, ready-to-wear (menswear and womenswear), abayas, kidswear, and accessories (shoes and bags). Interested applicants must have been in business for a minimum of one to two years and demonstrate individuality, cohesiveness in their work, as well as show potential for growth.

Arab regional designers hailing from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Yemen, Mauritania, Sudan, Djibouti, Somalia, and Palestine are eligible to apply.

To register for“The Collective” programme, interested designers can visit M7's website at m7.org.qa and submit their applications before the June 7 deadline.

The said programme was launched last year and is being held annually.

The seven designers from the inaugural edition have launched their exclusive capsule collection in a dedicated M7 x Printemps Doha concept space at the newly opened luxury department store - Doha Oasis.
