Hamad Airport Customs Thwarts Smuggling Attempt Of Marijuana

Doha, Qatar: A passenger's bag containing marijuana was seized by Customs authorities at Hamad International Airport (HIA).

Authorities inspected the bag of a passenger, upon suspicion, and found three wrapped packages containing marijuana. In several photos shared on social media, a total of 10.466 kg of marijuana were seized.

A smuggling attempt was also foiled recently by the maritime customs department at Al Ruwais. During the inspection, 62.700kg of prohibited hashish was found stashed inside a number of watermelons.

The Customs Department has been warning against bringing illegal goods into the country. They are equipped with all means of support including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and to be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
