Afghanistan-China Direct Flights Resume

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Direct Flights between Afghanistan and China will begin today, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Ministry of foreign affairs of the country.

The Afghanistan-China direct flight came after the meeting between the acting Foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and the Chinese ambassador to Kabul, Wang Yu.

“The direct Afghanistan-China flights would start on May 24th; Ainak copper mine preliminary work would be expedited; Afghan exports would be increased, particularly pomegranate; and besides the renovation of Jumhooriyat hospital, the affordable housing scheme would be inaugurated,” the statement said as quoting the Chinese ambassador.

Meanwhile, the acting foreign minister Muttaqi welcomed these steps taken by China and called it“a good opportunity to strengthen relations” and asked Beijing further to facilitate the visa regime between the two countries, the statement added.

In addition, the Chinese ambassador said on Tuesday in an event with the acting Afghan interior minister,“We are not supporting the policies of sanctions, pressure and interference in other countries.”

Since the de facto administration took over the country, China has increased its assistance and made significant investments, mainly in the mining and energy industries.
