Iranian Security Forces Dismantle Daesh-K Network in Fars Province

(MENAFN) In a significant development, the intelligence units of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have successfully dismantled a terror network associated with Daesh Khorasan (Daesh-K) in the southern province of Fars. Working in collaboration with the Fajr Intelligence Organization of Fars Province, the IRGC Intelligence Department identified and neutralized the operational and media network of Daesh-K, an Afghan branch of the notorious Takfiri Daesh terrorist organization. This successful operation resulted in the apprehension of key members of the organization.

Among those detained was the mastermind behind the network, who had been under the surveillance of the IRGC for a remarkable duration of four years. The individual was responsible for recruiting radicalized individuals in Tehran and other regions of Iran. The discovery and dismantling of this network came in the aftermath of a heinous terrorist attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz, the capital city of Fars province, which occurred in October of the previous year. The Daesh-K group claimed responsibility for the tragic incident, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives.

Further details regarding the operation to capture the remaining members of the network will be unveiled in due course. This successful crackdown on the Daesh-K network showcases the relentless efforts of the IRGC's intelligence units in combating terrorism and safeguarding the security of the nation. The swift and effective response to the terrorist attack on the revered Shah Cheragh shrine demonstrates Iran's commitment to eradicating extremist elements that seek to destabilize the country and harm its citizens.
