New Social Media Platform 'Malgari' Attracts Thousands Users

KABUL (Pajhwok): An Afghan youth has created a social media platform titled 'Malgari' - Friends - which has attracted around 20,000 users so far.
Hamid Afghan, the cultural in-charge of Malgari platform, said the purpose behind the creation of this platform was to provide an alternative medium due to the hard and unacceptable condition of foreign social media platforms.
He said creation of Malgari social media platform was made possible with the support of his friends and some applications that they developed with the help of an information technology company in the UAE.
He said they created Malgari from the past one year and so far attracted around 20,000 users, adding that its users would increase in the future.
Afghan said some of the features of the Malgari were same as the other social media platform such as creating new post, comments, videos, photos and others.
He said they have provided user creation options and marketing facilities as well and in the future there would be more innovation to the social media platform.
The said the platform could be reachable at and its application is available in play store and app store.
Referring to the creation of Malgari social media platform, he said:“Everyone today is busy in social media platform and western social media platforms - instegram, facebook, linked and others are ruling the world, they have hegemony in the world and imposed certain restrictions on our people and our country which are unfair. Meta Company related media outlets helped imposed US harsh and cruel policies and there was no need for clarification in this regard,” he said.
He said individuals who have access to internet, computer, smart phone and capable of reading and writing could use this Malgari handle.
He added there was only need for e-mail address to create user in the Malgari handle.
He said the users of Malgari website could earn points and when it reached to 50, the user could get it in cash.
The platform also provided blue tick to its user according to a specific policy. He said efforts were on to enable the creation of user name in the platform with the help of mobile number as well.
He asked people and government to support Malgari website and explore market for their business through this social media platform.
