The celebrations for the five-day Eid Al Fitr Festival, which are put on by the Private Engineering Office's celebrations committee, began on Saturday evening in Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakra.
On the first day of the festival, the two locations saw a sizable crowd of families from Qatar, residents from other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, and Qataris who came to these two historic locations to celebrate Eid Al Fitr with their children.
A sizable crowd attended the events and activities planned by the Private Engineering Office's festivities committee, including skill games for all age groups and performances by the infantry teams, especially because the mild weather encouraged everyone to venture outside into public areas.
The Eid Al Fitr Festival in Souq Waqif, according to the celebrations committee, has always been a special occasion because of its location in the heart of Doha. The Souq also features restaurants that cater to all tastes and types of people, serving both traditional Qatari food and western and eastern cuisine.
The Eid Al Fitr Festival is held at Souq Al Wakra as well, thanks to the popularity of previous festivals and events held there. The Souq stands out for its distinctive history on the Al Wakra coastline.
With their colorful and lacy outfits and energetic drumming, the show teams brought joy and happiness into the hearts of the shoppers in Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakra.
