Kuwait Observes World Earth Hour

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, March 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Environment Public Authority (EPA) joined in observing the World Earth Hour on Saturday, March 25.
Kuwait's participation in this global event is a reminder of the need to conserve energy and promote awareness about climate change, Acting Director of EPA Samira Al-Kanderi told KUNA this evening.
Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The event is held annually, encouraging individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 pm on the last Saturday of March, as a symbol of commitment to the planet. It started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia, in 2007. (end)
