Doha: The General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior has revealed its plan to manage traffic during the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking during an interview with Qatar Radio, the Assistant Director of the media and Traffic Awareness Department at the General Directorate of Traffic, Lieutenant Colonel Jaber Mohamed Odaiba, said that the department's preparations began before Ramadan, especially in commercial market areas, shopping places, and commercial streets where there is a lot of movement to buy Ramadan goods at known times.

'This year there will be more pressure on the traffic because school time and working hours for employees start at the same time,' he noted, adding that the patrols are present at intersections, schools, and areas where there are many schools to manage traffic during arrival and closing time when teachers and students leave schools.

Lieutenant Colonel Odaiba pointed out that the patrols will spread during the afternoon and before the iftar time because it is a time to go out for exercise or take a walk on the Corniche, and preparations are made to the fullest extent to manage traffic throughout the day.
