UN Resident Coordinator Talks Action Plan In Azerbaijan For 2023


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 14. The UN in Azerbaijan held 173 events worth $32.7 million in 2022, the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva said, trend reports.

Andreeva made the remark at a meeting of the joint steering committee for the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for 2021-2025 signed with Azerbaijan.

'This year, we plan to attract $37 million to hold 131 events. In particular, these events will cover the regions of Azerbaijan, including the liberated territories,' she noted.

The implementation of initiatives to achieve the sustainable development goals of Azerbaijan required a lot of effort and the UN will continue to support the country to achieve these goals as soon as possible by 2031, added the official.

The UNSDCF for 2021-2025 focuses on five key spheres, namely, inclusive growth, green economy, environmental protection, strengthening of social institutions and women's empowerment, and is directly linked to the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its targets in support of the 2030 Agenda.
