Ashghal Reveals 'Accessible Art' Available For Public In Several Beaches

Doha: The Public Works Authority – Ashghal - announced that the Supervisory Committee for the Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar has completed placing several art installments across the beaches of Sealine, Al Farkiah, Al Ghariya and Simaisma.

The artist behind these artworks, Leena Al-Aali said that the inspiration for her art installments was“the Gulf environment in general and particularly the Qatari environment” and that the art would“introduce visitors to our rich tradition that reflects our artistic and cultural identity through modern designs reflecting the aesthesim of fine art.”

The presence of artworks on beaches“contributes to making art accessible to all,” said Eng. Sara Kafood, the committee's Deputy Chairperson, adding that“transforming entertainment venues into an open art gallery plays a major role in enhancing local identity and civilized interaction.”

Eng. Hessa Al-Kaabi, the Project Design Manager, said that the artworks play a major role in“providing an enteraining and interactive experience to the visitors of all age groups” and that it gives them the ability to“take photos to become part of the artworks and enjoy their lively beautiful colors.”
