Russian intelligence reports that US is preparing militants to strike Russia

(MENAFN) The United States military is training jihadist extremists to strike targets in Russia and the former Soviet Union, the Russian foreign intelligence service stated on Monday.

The Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia, run by a Putin loyalist, claimed to have knowledge of the recruitment and training of 60 such fighters from organizations linked to Daesh and Al-Qaeda at an American facility in Syria.

The SVR, or the Foreign Intelligence Service, declared, “they will be tasked with preparing and carrying out terrorist attacks against diplomats, civil servants, law enforcement officers and personnel of the armed forces.” The SVR announced in a declaration that “special attention is paid to attracting immigrants from the Russian North Caucasus and Central Asia.”

Reuters was unable to independently confirm the agency's allegation since it did not disclose the intelligence that supported it. Sergei Naryshkin, the head of the SVR, originally belonged to the powerful KGB of the Soviet period. He visited CIA Director William Burns in Ankara last year.
