Ukrainian Forces Repel Enemy Attacks On 19 Settlements In Three Regions


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks on 19 settlements in the Luhansk, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions on February 8.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning war update published on facebook , Ukrinform reports.

'The enemy, trying to take full control of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka areas outside Kreminna, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Opytne, Marinka and Vuhledar. It actively uses tactical and army aircraft to launch strikes on the positions of our troops,' the report reads.

According to the General Staff, over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian units repelled enemy attacks outside the settlements of Stelmakhivka and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, Vyimka, Fedorivka, Bakhmut, Krasna Hora, Paraskoviivka, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Novokalynove, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Vesele, Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Marinka, Bohoiavlenka and Prechystivka in the Donetsk region and Novoandriivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Throughout the past day, the Russian occupiers launched three missile and 45 air strikes, leaving three civilians dead and three others wounded. In addition, the enemy carried out 67 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems, in particular, against civilian infrastructure in the Kherson region.

The threat of further Russian air and missile attacks against Ukraine remains high, the General Staff said.

In the village of Kokhane, Vasylivka district, Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian occupying forces are engaged in mass looting.

'In the past day, the aircraft of the Defense Forces launched 21 strikes on the areas of concentration of troops and military equipment of the occupiers and three strikes on the positions of their anti-aircraft missile systems. Our gunners and rocket forces hit two enemy command posts, three troop concentration areas, three positions of anti-aircraft missile systems, two ammunition depots and a fuel depot,' the General Staff said.
