Courts Process 16,760 Cyber-Related Cases In Past 4 Years

Amman, Feb. 6 (Petra) -- The Kingdom's courts have dealt with a total of 16,760 cybercrime-related cases involving 20,259 people over the past four years, according to statistics obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra) from the Jordanian Judicial Council.
Since 2019, there have been 13,108 instances of cybercrime that directly violated the law, and 3,652 instances of other crimes involving the use of technology, the data showed.
With a total of 11,926 cases, online defamation was the most common offense, followed by criminal threats, indecent assault, indecency, fraud, economic crime, and pornography.
