Pakdasht outputs over 100 types of flowers, ornamental plants


(MENAFN) Over 100 types of flowers and ornamental plants, counting in cut flowers and indoor plants, are outputted in Pakdasht nation in Tehran district.

Pakdasht, located 25 kilometers southeast of Tehran city, comes in the first spot in the province and nation in terms of cultivated area and output of flowers and ornamental plants, and in the output and quality of two cut flowers, "Anthurium" as well as "Orchid", it also sustains the first rank in the nation.

The flowers and ornamental plants outputted in Pakdasht are shipped to Iraq, Oman, Armenia, Baku as well as Russia.

The area below greenhouse flower and plant cultivation in Tehran district is 1,310 hectares, and Pakdasht's stake is 1,170 hectares (81 percent).

Iran places at the 17th place in the world in the output of flowers and ornamental plants, but it is 107th spot in terms of shipment.
