The Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on March 17–19, 2023. This will be the third Formula 1 race that Jeddah will hold in the span of two months.
Saudi Motorsport Company CEO Martin Whitaker emphasized that ongoing work is intended to extend the track's operational life and make it more thrilling to ensure a better experience for fans around the world. Joint efforts have been made with Formula 1 and the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) to ensure having a track that allows organizing races for many years in Jeddah.
A unique project, Qiddiya will be a destination that everyone wants to come, he continued, the circuit in Qiddiya has started through a design characterized by entrepreneurship in the field of building Formula 1 circuits and entertainment events.
He mentioned that during the past 10 months, work has been done on the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in coordination with Formula 1 and the FIA in an effort to make a few minor tweaks to the corners to improve drivers' lines of view, particularly when driving at 200 mph and only two inches from the ground.
According to Whitaker, the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is one of the largest sporting events held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the race served as a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of the discipline.
The race's organizing committee has stated that the 2024 edition will need to be moved to the next year's calendar in order to avoid conflicting with Ramadan, which will take place between March 10 and April 9, 2024. The committee also stated that Formula 1 and the FIA will work together to identify the precise timing of the event before it is announced later this year.–SPA
