Doha Municipality Participates In ATO Meeting In Kuwait

Doha: Doha Municipality has participated in the emergency meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab Towns Organization (ATO), which was held yesterday at its headquarters in Kuwait.

The representatives of ATO member countries unanimously appointed Abdul Rahman Hisham Saad Al Asfour as the new Secretary-General of the organisation. Al Asfour who was nominated from Kuwat, is replacing Engineer Ahmed Mohamed Al Sabih, the former Secretary-General of the Organization.

Doha Municipality delegation was headed by Mansour Ajran Al Buainain, Director of the Municipality and Chairman of the Arab Cities Award Foundation, and included Hamad Ali Al Kaabi, Director of Public Affairs Department in the Municipality, and Issa Rashid Al Bader, Director of the Arab Cities Award Foundation.

Mansour Al Buainain affirmed the continuous keenness of Doha Municipality to strengthen the bonds of cooperation with the Arab Towns Organization, to achieve its aspirations for the advancement of the Arab city and upholding its status, through the implementation of comprehensive sustainable development plans at all levels.

He expressed his thanks and gratitude to the former General Secretariat of the Arab Towns Organization, for the continuous support it provided to all its institutions and member cities during its journey full of achievements, wishing the current secretariat every success in all its endeavours to advance the organization and its institutions, to be in the ranks of other global and regional organizations.

The Director of Doha Municipality affirmed his full readiness to exert more cooperation and solidarity with the General Secretariat of the Arab Towns Organization and officials of the Arab cities that are members of the organization, regarding any decisions and recommendations that serve all Arab cities and contribute to their development.
