Morocco Hosts ISESCO Executive Board Meeting


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RABAT, Dec 23 (KUNA) -- The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Executive Board meeting kicked off Friday, with the participation of member states, including Kuwait.
In his inaugural speech, ISESCO Director General Salim Al-Malik stressed the organization's keenness on its innovative and modernizing approach to be an integrated and practical-orientated body.
This made it one of the most prestigious international institutions, he said, reviewing the most prominent achievements made by the organization through many conferences, seminars and workshops, initiatives and programs.
He indicated that the organization won many distinguished international awards and certificates during the year 2022.
President of the ISESCO General Conference, Egypt's Minister of Education and Scientific Research Mohamed Ashour evaluated constructive cooperation with the organization in education, science and culture, within the framework of the bloc moving forward in involving member states and national committees, and coordinating with them.
Meanwhile, Youssef Al-Najjar, Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education and Chairman of ISESCO financial control committee, represented Kuwait at the meeting.
The meeting witnessed the announcement of Lebanon's official accession to the organization after it had completed the necessary legal procedures.
ISESCO is a specialized bloc based in Rabat that operates within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
In addition, the organization is concerned with education, science, culture and communication to strengthen ties amongst member states. (end)
