(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) today assured support, as a responsible opposition, for every positive step the Government takes.
TNA MP M.A Sumanthiran told Parliament that that the TNA will also oppose and call-out the Government if the Government takes the wrong path.
He said that most in the opposition are not in a position to place their full weight behind the new Government.
Sumanthiran said that this is mainly because the Government still has individuals who are corrupt.
The TNA MP said that unless a fundamental change is made, nothing will change.
He said that the racist elements in the Government must be totally eradicated.
Sumanthiran also said that the current Parliament has lost its mandate and so a fresh mandate is needed. (Colombo Gazette)
