Doha: FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar is expected to further increase investments in Qatar in the coming years while many fans have noted the country as one of the best destinations to invest among other GCC nations according to data by Fitch Solutions.

In addition to boosting the leisure industry, visitors who are in the business sector will invest larger FDI and the securities will be improved adding that the scope of state component in the Long-Term Political Risk Index (LTPRI) score from 80.0 to 82.5, reflecting lower external constraints. 

This increases the overall LTPRI score from 70.78 to 71.30, confirming the Gulf State as one of the most stable countries in the MENA region. 

As the FIFA World Cup is underway, investments in connection with tourism sectors indicate towering progress. 

“We believe that the stimulus provided by the World Cup towards Qatar's tourism industry will spur investment towards tourism-related industries,” the report stated.

As Qatar limbers up to host various international events post-World Cup, the Arab State has already become one of the favorite destinations for a large number of tourists outpouring into the country, which sees a vital growth in investments across all Gulf countries. The data stated that“Moreover, we think the World Cup will give Qatar in particular, but the rest of the GCC in general, increased political legitimacy as it shows the country can successfully host a well-run event and accommodate large inflows of tourists.”

On one hand, as the mega sporting event makes dramatic turns into its knock-out stages, the visitors are hopeful of its security relations with key partners on the other.
