US considers enhancing training for Ukrainian soldiers

(MENAFN) According to reports cited by CNN on Wednesday, the administration of United States President Joe Biden is considering drastically expanding the training program for Ukrainian soldiers, which is anticipated to take place at a United States military station in Germany.

The proposal aims to train about 2,500 Ukrainian service members each month, according to unnamed United States officials consulted by the news network. Furthermore, according to the report, should the initiative be approved, the United States would change the kind of training the troops receive in addition to increasing the number of troops undergoing it.

The new program, which the United States administration is reportedly still reviewing, would involve training much larger groups of Ukrainian troops and using more advanced tactics, such as maneuvers with artillery support.

United States officials also informed the publication that given the stabilization of the frontlines would allow Kiev to send more troops into the rear, the anticipated winter lull in the Ukraine conflict could present an opportunity for a more robust training program.
