Iran’s Garment shipments reaches USD37M in first 7 months


(MENAFN) As declared by the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran has shipped an amount of 6,211 tons of garments valued at USD37 million throughout the opening seven months of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-October 22).

Morteza Emadi named Iraq, Azerbaijan as well as Afghanistan the main shipment destinations of Iranian garments in the stated seven months.

As earlier declared by an official with the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade, the worth of shipments from Iran’s clothing and textile sectors in the last Iranian calendar year 1400 (closed on March 20) surged by eight percent in comparison to the number for the year before.

Afsaneh Mehrabi, the director-general of the Weaving and Garment Industries Department of the ministry, mentioned that the mass of the shipments from the stated industry also jumped by six percent on a year on year basis.
