Croatia, Morocco share 1 point each as their match ends 0-0

(MENAFN) Croatia and Morocco each got a point in a goalless tie in their World Cup Group F first match on Wednesday.

Scoring chances were few and far among as the two sides has an evenly contested match between them at the Al Bayt Stadium.

The former Inter player Ivan Perisic was the first who came near of opening the scoresheet, firing a shot from long range in the 17th minute that went just above the bar.

The best opportunity of the first 45 minutes came to Nikola Vlasic in last minutes of the half, but his attempt from point-blank range was saved by Morocco’s goalkeeper Bono.

Bono stopped Croatia once more with a chance just minutes into the second 45 minutes, fearlessly jumping into a crowd to stop what would have been a tap-in.

Morocco dealt with a setback as Bayern Munich wing-back Noussair Mazraoui suffered from an injury and was taken off the pitch just a bit before the hour mark.

A 64th-minute free kick witnessed Achraf Hakimi strike a strong curving shot from a long way out that was saved away by Croatia’s goalie Dominik Livakovic.
