Bahrain attracts USD291M in investments in tourism industry this year
(MENAFN) The Bahrain Economic Development Board has collected 110 million Bahraini dinars (USD291 million) in straight funds in the tourism field throughout the opening nine months of this year, as shown by an announcement.
The tourism funds come as an overall of eight companies are either surging to the Gulf nation or going into it for the initial time.
Throughout the upcoming three years, the additional companies are estimated to produce as many as 1090 jobs in the nations.
Overall, Bahrain EDB collects 348 million Bahraini dinars in direct funds from 65 companies, and other businesses throughout the opening 9 months of this year.
Throughout the course of the approaching three years, the investments are expected to bring nearly up to 4,700 employments opportunities through various main industries such as financial services, Information and communications technology, logistics, manufacturing, tourism, on top of many others.
“We are pleased to witness this momentum in the tourism sector post COVID-19. All the indicators show that we are in the right direction to recover, and with our four-year tourism strategy under the Economic Recovery Plan, we are hoping to attract even more investments and welcome 14 million tourists by 2026,” as stated by the announcement, quoting Munther Al-Mudawi, executive director – Business Development for Tourism at Bahrain EDB.
