Turkey’s daily electricity usage rises by 11.8 percent on Oct. 3


(MENAFN) Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) data released on Tuesday shows that daily electricity usage in Turkey on Monday was 850,773 megawatts per hours, down 11.8 percent from the day before.

According to TEIAS figures, the peak hourly power demand was 40,900 megawatts per hours at 4:00 regional time (1300 GMT). At 5:00 a.m. regional time, the nation's power consumption reached its lowest point of 27,621 megawatts per hours (0200 GMT).

On Monday, 850,599 megawatts per hours of electricity were produced, which is a 12.9 percent reduction from Saturday.

Natural gas power factories comprised by 25.2 percent of the entire amount of electricity, whereas imported coal and lignite power factories constituted by 23.2 percent and 13.9 percent, correspondingly.

Electricity exports and imports for the day totaled 7,250 and 7,446 megawatts per hours, respectively.
