Arab Parliament Chief Calls For More Efforts Against Illiteracy


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Sept 7 (KUNA) -- Chairman of the Arab Parliament Adel Al-Asousi has underlined necessity of intensifying Arabs' efforts in facing illiteracy and called for working out special programs to help the nation stay abreast of modern-time developments.
Al-Asousi, in a statement issued by the Arab Parliament marking the International Literacy Day falling on September 8, expressed satisfaction at Arab states' efforts in facing illiteracy and upgrading educational systems.
He indicated that the parliament launched an initiative to update teaching in the Arab countries, matching international criteria. (end)
