Iran’s IM asks for resolution of frontier fights in Iran-Afghanistan frontier

(MENAFN) Iran’s interior Minister considers that sporadic frontier conflicts with the Taliban border guards are because of their ignorance of the demarcation of Iran-Afghanistan frontiers, underlining that the problem has to be resolved through discussion.

Talking in a presser on Saturday, Ahmad Vahidi stated, “So far, we have had five to six shootings by the Taliban border guards, which is due to the lack of awareness by the Taliban border guards, and each time it has been resolved by contacting Kabul and has not turned serious.”

He then declared that it is essential to resolve these problems peacefully and through talking with the people located at the borders and the Taliban troops.

“We are also trying to avoid sensitivity at the borders and we hope that the matter will be managed and controlled,” Vahidi added.

About the wars with the Taliban border guards and the probability of blocking the frontier, the interior minister ruled out such an option, declaring “This issue is not on the agenda.”
