Power Cuts To Be Extended Following Breakdown

The daily power cuts are to be extended following the breakdown at the Norochcholai coal power plant.
The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) said that the power cuts will be extended to 3 hours from tomorrow (Tuesday).
The PUCSL said that it will take approximately 14-16 days to complete repairs at the coal power plant.
Another breakdown has been reported at the Norochcholai coal power plant.
Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that there has been a breakdown in Unit 1 of the Norochcholai coal power plant.
He said that technical staff are working to identify the fault.
The Minister also said that Unit 2 is undergoing scheduled maintenance work. (Colombo Gazette)
