Al-Baqa'a, Aug 10 (Petra) -- The National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Wednesday held a workshop in Azraq as part of the 'A Governance Tool for a Sustainable Distribution of Water Resources in the Mediterranean' project.
The head of the Irrigation Water Management Research Department and project coordinator, Luna Hadidi, said that the NARC seeks to optimise the use of water resources and find solutions to water challenges, especially in areas with less rainfall, noting that agricultural research has been conducted on increasing productivity per unit cubic kilo of water through optimal use of resources.
She added that the workshop aims to educate and assist stakeholders, including operators, users and water providers, about the effective management of groundwater and the preservation of sustainable water reserves by developing a tool (GTOOL)
