Egypt Welcomes Yemen Truce Extension


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Aug 4 (KUNA) -- Egypt welcomed on Thursday UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg's statement that Yemeni truce deal was extended for two more months.
In a statement, Egypt's Foreign Ministry expressed its appreciation for the UN's efforts, expressing hope that the extension would contribute to reaching a comprehensive settlement to the Yemeni crisis, and support the political initiatives for restoring the unity and stability of Yemen.
Grundberg announced last Tuesday that the Yemeni parties agreed on extending the truce agreement with the same conditions for two months ending on October 2. (end)
