Jordan to receive USD1.45B in yearly help from US for next five years

(MENAFN) The White House announced on Saturday that the United States is going to give Jordan USD1.45 billion in aid per year beginning in 2019.
Following the Jeddah Security and Development Summit, United States President Joe Biden met with King Abdullah of Jordan in Saudi Arabia.
On the last day of Mr. Biden's first trip to the region since assuming office, a group of leaders from the GCC, Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq gathered.
To outline Washington's vision, strategy, and policies for the Middle East, Mr. Biden traveled to Saudi Arabia, the Occupied West Bank, and Israel.
According to the declaration, "the United States plans to make a commitment to support the provision of no less than USD1.45 billion per year in US bilateral foreign assistance to Jordan, beginning in FY 2023 and ending in FY 2029."
According to the statement, the deal would take care of Jordan's " extraordinary needs, supports King Abdullah II’s economic reform program and ensure the long-term strength of the close partnership between the United States and Jordan."
